What it covers

Covers build and assembly: electronic boards, custom harnesses, power distribution units, mechanical assemblies, FPGA and microcontroller firmware, operating and acquisition software. It applies both to the complete system — rack drawer or full cabinet — and to a single subcomponent to be integrated into a third-party bench already in service.

What it leaves behind

It leaves the physical system and what comes with it: a bill of materials updated to the shop-floor changes, cable schedules and as-built harness drawings, the released firmware and software version, an integration record. This is where the design stops being a document and becomes an object that can be measured.

Where it ends, where the next one starts

It begins once the drawings are approved and the components procured, and ends when the system is assembled, powered and ready for the test campaign. The tests that follow do not belong to this phase: they are acceptance testing, and they stay separate so that the result is stated by a procedure written beforehand, not by whoever built the system.

Evidence in the portfolio

Documented by 25 programmes out of 26 published.

This list is not written by hand: it is derived from the “Work performed” entries of the programme cards. Next to each title is the line that matched the programme, so the match can be checked — and disputed. A new card joins on its own.
