Interface and self-test box for a check-out chain

A unit that decouples the check-out chain from the item under test and verifies its integrity before connection. Subcomponent mechanical and electronic design, and support to AIT.

Unit front panel: three connector groups — main line, redundant line and self-test path — each carrying power, telecommand and telemetry, with the power-on indicator
Rear panel: mains inlet, diagnostic connectors and the connector field of the lines towards the check-out chain
The unit connected on the bench: screened cables terminated on the three groups, with the line labelling in plain view

An interface unit placed between the check-out chain and the item under test that, before connection, allows the chain to be verified against itself: continuity, pin correspondence, absence of unintended levels.

It is the function that avoids discovering a wiring error when there is a flight model on the other end — that is, when the error stops being merely a delay.

Built for an Italian satellite operator, within the test chain of an observation payload. IN SY TO held subcomponent responsibility for the mechanical and electronic scope, with support to AIT.

Role
